In September, Dr. William Crawley, a dedicated member of the CPED Board of Directors, had the privilege of visiting Dublin City University (DCU) to connect with Dr. Alan Gorman, Deputy Chair of the EdD Program, and other esteemed faculty members leading the Doctor of Education (EdD) program.
The visit served as an opportunity to celebrate the continued success and growth of DCU's EdD program while exploring the valuable impact of CPED membership in shaping curriculum and fostering student engagement through problems of practice.
A central focus of their conversations was understanding the distinct needs of doctoral students and exchanging strategies to address them effectively. Topics ranged from systemic dissertation development and enhanced writing support to bolstering analytical skills. DCU faculty also shared several innovative practices designed to engage their doctoral students and amplify the dissemination of their research.
This vibrant exchange of ideas showcased the strength of international collaboration and the shared commitment to advancing professional practice doctorate programs.
Dr. Crawley's visit concluded at the DCU Institute of Education, where a photo was captured with Drs. Maura Coulter, Alan Gorman, and William Crawley—a meaningful moment symbolizing the collaborative spirit that drives the EdD community.
