Revitalization of CPED CIG Groups
CPED Improvement Groups (CIGs) consist of groups of members who share a common interest in specific topics, contexts, or components of EdD program design and who want to learn about and develop strategies for improving best practices. Such learning and improvement will support the CPED mission “to strengthen, improve, support and promote the CPED framework through continued collaboration and investigation.”
Leaders of each CIG recently redesigned their goals and outcomes, centering the role of collaboration and sharing within their membership. New events and activities have been established as well as new ways for keeping members informed.
Four CIG Groups Currently Exist
1) Dissertation in Practice CIG (formerly Group Dissertations)
Leaders: Drs. Leigh Graves Wolf and Danah Henriksen, Arizona State University
2) Improvement Science CIG
Leaders: Drs. Deborah Peterson and Susan Carlisle, Portland State University
3) Online/Hybrid Learning CIG
Leaders: Drs. Carmen McCrink and Jean McAtavey, Barry University
4) EdD Programs for Social Justice
Leaders: Drs. Kofi Lomotey and Jess Weiler, Western Carolina University

Not only are CIGs being revitalized, we have an easier way for you to join and participate. If you are interested in joining any one of/or all CPED’s Improvement Groups, you can do so through the CPED website. Here’s How:
Log into the CPED website and complete two steps using the instructions HERE:
1. Affiliate with your CIG group on your CPED profile by editing your profile2. Join your CIGs “circle” to receive CIG communications
*The CPED website has a feature called circles which has been enabled for use with CPED Committees and CIGs. Circles are member networks that connect CPED members with committees and CIGs.
These instructions will provide detailed information about how to select the CIG in your profile and join the CIG circles for engagement and communication.
