CPED February Show & Tell Tuesday

Transformative Learning: Enhancing Scholarly Practice Through a Qualitative Pilot Study

Date: Tuesday, February 28, 2023

Time: 1:00 - 2:00 PM ET

Transformative learning theory, centered on a commitment to adult learning, fosters the conscious use of critical thinking and reflection, the personal willingness to question assumptions, and the recognition of the complexity inherent in work and community situations. This show and tell session will explain the way Drexel University's EdD program enhances the scholarly practitioner through a transformative approach to a qualitative pilot. The presenters will describe how transformative learning practices are integrated into aspects of a two-term, online, qualitative research course. The experiential course design incorporates a range of authentic learning experiences that provide meaningful knowledge and skills for the qualitative researcher.
